2023 was a particularly challenging year for crypto, with strong market shifts and peaks, and a tough bear market period. However, these changes also brought some good things, like a willingness to innovate and exploit blockchain technology to foster progress and advancements in several areas.
Throughout this past year, Integritee’s tech team worked hard on the development and release of several products. This includes our own oracle framework and Integritee’s novel decentralized remote attestation service. The content crew was invested in bringing forth a series of engaging articles and videos to help spread the word about the work we do and how it can help both traditional and Web3 companies.

AI, Integritee’s Roadmap, a Privacy Sidechain & More
2023 kicked off with a visit to Davos for the World Economic Forum, where we made meaningful connections from the tech and blockchain industries. On the tech side, we have successfully extended our Kusama slot lease time and swapped the slots via XCM, an action that could only be done via governance. We have also been working on our SDK to update it and frequently release new improved versions. January was also the month we started “It’s TEE Time”, our monthly community podcast that’s still running — follow us on Twitter and Discord to get updates.
In February, we released our Roadmap for the year in which we highlighted our path — we’ve accomplished most of the goals that we’ve set out to fulfill. In the 1st quarter of 2023, we forged partnerships with other projects, and non-Web3 companies such as Oli Systems — this is proof that Integritee can collaborate with both Web2 and blockchain-based organizations.
In March, the Integritee tech team was busy working on the development of different services and applications, namely our own TEE-based oracle, the Teeracle. It allows you to retrieve data from the real world in a secure way because we use trusted execution environments. If you want to know more about it, read about it here.
March was also when we first brought up the idea of a privacy sidechain, and have been working on it since then. From there, we’ve worked on the concept and are now almost ready to release it so everyone can use it. We also made some progress on the Securitee side with the launch of our Confidential Computing Platform. It’s a TEE-based cybersecurity solution that lets you add an extra layer of security and confidentiality to the data services or applications you’re using.
2nd Quarter
Polkassembly, DAOs & the Attesteer
2023’s second quarter kickstarted with the launch of Integritee’s new governance platform on Polkassembly — which allows TEER token holders to vote on important matters regarding the Integritee network, and much easier and faster voting processes since the interface is user-friendly and frequently updated. We released the Sidechain SDK v.0.12.0, thus enabling DCAP attestation, 3rd party target L1 chains, and subscription to events within the enclave.
At the end of June, Integritee’s Team was in Copenhagen for Decoded, where our CTO, Alain Brenzikofer presented our Privacy Sidechain model — you can watch the talk here. In August, we explored the concept of Decentralized Autonomous Organizations (DAOs), the challenges token holders currently face, different voting systems, and much more. The article discusses the fairness of decision-making and the importance of confidentiality when it comes to voting.
As mentioned before, our tech department has been working on the development of new services, and this includes a novel remote attestation service. We use a public blockchain to verify remote attestation of TEEs and its novel Attesteer service integrates with any 3rd party enclave to close the last gaps in the trust chain towards public auditability. Read through our article on the Attesteer to understand what it’s all about.
3rd Quarter
Educational Content, OVH & the TOP 100 Award
2023’s third quarter kickstarted with the launch of our educational videos — our community was eager to see more meaningful content, so we started a series of videos focusing on our technology and how it works. If you want to learn more, click here.
OVH published a highly awaited whitepaper which was written in collaboration with Intel, OVH, and Integritee. OVH also launched a global campaign highlighting its focus on the blockchain industry and mentioned Integritee as a strong partner within the field.
In September, Integritee won the TOP 100 Public Voting — Security Vertical, and CEO Waldemar Scherer took the stage of the TOP 100 Swiss Startup Award to receive a prize. This was a recognition of our value and hard work over these past years. Also in September, Alain flew once again to spread the Integritee word — this time landing in Lisbon for Sub0, the Polkadot developer conference.

An Accelerator Program & Exciting Launches
In 2023’s last quarter, Integritee embraced a new — ongoing — challenge: we made it into season 5 of Tech4Trust’s accelerator program! Our CEO Waldemar Scherer attended the Trust Valley’s Bootcamp Day and pitched in front of large industry players. Throughout the quarter, the team attended a series of different activities, meetings, and workshops focused on digital trust and cybersecurity. This provided us with valuable insights into the industry and gave us the chance to connect with like-minded entrepreneurs, traditional and web3 companies, and other startups.
October was also when we officially introduced our rebranded assets and new website, which is now leaner and easier to navigate, and includes new features.
We kept developing our unique privacy sidechain throughout the year, but it wasn’t until December that we officially launched Incognitee. Here, we explain everything about it: how it works, what it does, and who can benefit from it.
2023 in Numbers
As you can see, 2023 was an intense and fulfilling year for us! We are proud of the work we did and excited for what’s to come. This includes the continuous development and enhancement of Incognitee, new projects related to privacy, partnerships with traditional and Web3 companies, and much more! Stay tuned and keep following our work via our online community platforms.
About Integritee
Integritee is the most scalable, privacy-enabling network with a Parachain on Kusama and Polkadot. Our SDK solution combines the security and trust of Polkadot, the scalability of second-layer Sidechains, and the confidentiality of Trusted Execution Environments (TEE), special-purpose hardware based on Intel Software Guard Extensions (SGX) technology inside which computations run securely, confidentially, and verifiably.
